Psychotherapy, practiced deliberately.

About

I'm a psychotherapist practicing in Polson, Montana.

Most of the people I work with are managing their lives reasonably well. They're meeting their responsibilities, holding things together, and getting by. But there's often something underneath. It could be a feeling that hasn't had much room; a sense that something is off or muted; or that things aren't quite aligned with how they want to be living.

This practice is built around sustained, deliberate attention. Not crisis management or quick fixes, but the slower work of actually understanding yourself. We'll discuss your patterns, your assumptions, and the strategies you've developed to keep yourself steady through everything. That kind of work takes time, and it's worth it.

I work primarily with adult men, and also see older adolescents (15+) and others who feel this approach might be a good fit. This practice is best suited to people ready for consistent, ongoing work rather than short-term support or crisis care.

Psychotherapy

Sessions are focused and collaborative. We discuss what isn't working or causing issues in your life. Those can be anything from limiting beliefs, to emotional habits, or impulsive actions, just to name a few. We work to uncover where thinking or behavior has gotten stuck and how patterns develop. Where those patterns came from matters, so we'll look at that too.

When relevant, we'll work together on understanding what's going on diagnostically and address it deliberately, using evidence-based methods to target both symptoms and their roots. Some things can change. Others are better faced and accepted. We'll work on both.

My role is not to direct your life. It is to help you see it clearly.

Coaching

In addition to psychotherapy, I offer coaching for adults seeking structured reflection around professional direction, leadership strain, decision-making, and long-term alignment.

Coaching is forward-focused and practical. It's for people who are functioning well but want more: better performance, stronger leadership, clearer direction. We work on the things that don't rise to the level of a mental health diagnosis but still get in the way.
